How to Upgrade TPM 1.2 to 2.0 on the HP Z240:
1. Verify TPM Version and Manufacturer:
Press Win + R, type tpm.msc, and press Enter.
Ensure your TPM is from Infineon (IFX) and currently at version 1.2.
2. Download the Required Tools:
TPM Configuration Utility (SP87753):
Download from HP's FTP:
👉SP87753.exe
Documentation:
👉 https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Can-t-install-tpm-...Firmware BIN File:
If not included in the above package, you may need to obtain the appropriate firmware BIN file separately.
3. Prepare for the Upgrade:
Disable BitLocker:
If BitLocker is enabled, decrypt your drive to prevent data loss: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/attachments/psg/Business-PC-Workstation-POS/46456/1/ArtefactPC%20on%2...Update BIOS:
Ensure your BIOS is updated to the latest version available for the Z240.
4. Execute the Upgrade:
Run the downloaded SoftPaq to extract files (default location: C:\SWSetup\SP87753).
Place the firmware BIN file in the same directory as the TPM Configuration Utility executable.
Run TPMConfig64.exe as an administrator.

Note/Disclaimer: Upgrading TPM firmware is a sensitive operation. Ensure all steps are followed precisely to avoid issues.
Important Considerations for Windows 11:
Even after upgrading to TPM 2.0, the HP Z240's 6th and 7th generation Intel CPUs (like the i7-6700 or upgraded processors such as the i7-7700K or the Xeon E3-1280 v6) will be blocked regardless of TPM 2.0.
However, there are reliable methods to bypass these restrictions. Here's a comprehensive guide:

Rolling Back to Windows 10:
If you decide Windows 11 isn't for you, you have a 10-day window to revert to Windows 10 without data loss. After this period, a clean installation may be necessary. For guidance:
