cannot access raid 0 settings in bios

how to i access raid settings?

i have went into the bios settings & changed the SATA config to RAID from AHCI & after reboot nothing happens, windows reboots as normal/

i have the second drive (2tb) attached via a hardware dock (usb).

First of all, booting from RAID mode to AHCI mode will cause a blue screen unless you are in Safe mode and you didn't state that you had booted in safe mode.

Second, Intel IRST only works with SATA attached devices and not USB attached devices.

Im in raid mode now & i didnt have it booted in safe mode. I do get a blue screen if i try to boot in AHCI as u mentioned.

So IRST will work if i put the drive internal?

What mode do you want to run in? RAID or AHCI?

BTW---The cabinet only has room for a 2.5" form factor device.

i want to do RAID 0 so RAID mode but i cannot figure out how to configure/setup the RAID with the drives.

Did you check the BIOS under Storage options to confirm that your PC is running in RAID mode?

BTW----Your PC only has provisioning to add a 2.5" form factor HD device.

I typically don't RAID devices unless they are exactly alike.

Windows 10?  Your PC wasn't certified for W10 and the newer versions of W10 may not run on your PC.  I suggest that you start taking frequent HD image backups as the latest version of W10 may not work on your PC.

yes, its running in RAID mode in bios settings

& i have taken the DVD burner out for the extra hard drive so that wont be the problem but tomorrow i have the exact same HDD coming.

so how would i go to doing RAID 0, any programs? drivers? 

& yes im running the lastest version of windows 10.

Hi,

Please reread my previous post.  Start taking HD image backups on a regular basis. Do this before attempting to convert to RAID 0.

Is your PC running the latest BIOS?

You might want to install the latest HP diagnostics and run a set to make sure that your PC is stable.

Before setting up RAID 0, I suggest that you install the latest Intel IRST RAID software and then reboot your PC.
