HP ENVY Desktop - 700-430qe CTO

I have an Envy 700-430qe with a card reader that wont read micro sd card in a standard sd card adapter. but will if you put the adapter with micro sd card in a usb adapter then it reads it fine

 How do I fix this

That means that either the card reader needs a driver or it is damaged.

It could also mean that the standard SD card adapter is broken/damaged.

 

I would try the driver first.

There is no Windows 11 driver available in the driver support portal, so try the windows 10 driver.

Look for the Alcor micro usb card reader driver in the storage driver section.

 

 

Another member tried and was unsucessful in resolving the same issue in the thread at the hyperlink below.

Unless the Alcor Micro usb card reader driver is updated, you may be out of luck.
