Hi:

Here is all the info you need to update the microcode for your dc5800.

I zipped up and attached the utility to make a bootable flash drive below, the DOS command files you will need, as well as the dc5800 microcode update files.

You make the bootable flash drive first by running sp27608.

After the utility has formatted the drive and made it bootable, copy the DOS system files to the flash drive, then copy the dc5800 Microcode update flash files to the flash drive.

Copy just the files in the folders, not the folders.

Restart the PC with the flash drive plugged in, and the PC should boot to the usb flash drive.

The PC should arrive at a command prompt.

At the command prompt, type Flashbin.exe and hit the enter key.

Follow the on screen instructions to update the microcode.

After the microcode has been updated, the error should be gone.

Thanks for your help.

I made the upgrade as you sad, looks good.

But I can't install windows 10 at all.

I checked booting from CD or USB same situation.

Is start booting apear the windows square but after 20-30 sec stop flashing/cd usb led and doesn't enter in the instalation process.

Maybe is need also a System BIOS firmware upgrade?

(it has v01.04)

I tested now a Windows7 installation and I get blue-screen error:

A problem has detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Driver_IRQL_NOR_LESS_OR_EQUY

STOP: 0x000000D1

any tips?

thanks

You're very welcome.

You may want to update the BIOS to the latest version.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know why you can't install W7 or W10 on that PC.

I have a dc7800 CMT, which is an upscale version of the dc5800 and I installed W7 and W10 with no issues using a DVD.

Later:

I made a BIOS upgrade to the latest 1.60 version, and now everything is OK.

I have installed succesfully the windows 10

🙂

It was my fault, I thought that with former microcode update the BIOS was updated also.

But no, the BIOS was very old 1.04.

now is OK

thanks
