Welcome back to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
This thread seems to be a circuitous exercise in futility.
You don't need the current version of HPSA if no HP driver/software updates exist.
Just go here (Link) to see if HP is offering Windows 7 updates for your PC. Check each download option for current updates. Click on the (+) sign to expand each software/driver download option.
The only relevant HPSA update options are within Diagnostics or Utilities. All other downloadable software options are from 2013 or 2014.
Windows 7 (you are using Windows 7) update problems require a different set of troubleshooting techniques.
Are you having HPSA version update problems, HPSA software download update problems, or Windows 7 update problems?

I should have said I checked and there are quite few updates, but only the two you mentioned are current 2018 updates. Before downloading any of them I want your advice. Should I download all of them or just the 2018 updates"

i dont think you understand how windows updates
HP offered several programs through the years that checked their installed software and also windows to see if any updates were available
"HP Update Software" for printers is obselete and needs to be uninstalled
"HP Update Tools" is also obselete and should be uninstalled (came with notebooks)
HP Support Assistant is the current program used on consumer computer models, but is not a nessary program
there are other varations of hp update programs i'm sure but all of them are not nessary as windows itself will check and download any required Operating System updates
many of the hp programs contain adds prompting you to upgrade software, monitor your usage behavior and duplicate the windows update capability. if you don't use any of the HP supplied software, it should be uninstalled and the HP updater program also uninstalled
last if downloading updates through windows, take all offered updates
and run the windows update check manually several times, as some updates will not be offered until previous updates have been installed

You're very welcome.
You are right. There are only two 2018 updates available at HP's Driver download site.
One of the updates is a newer version of HP's Support Assistant. The other HP update is HP Connection Optimizer.
Download and install the 2018 updates if you want the updates. You don't need either update. It's you choice.
A 2016 BIOS update (80.23 Rev.A) is also available. It is not necessary to install this update. BIOS updates should be installed if the HP documented BIOS fixes are relevant to a problem you are experiencing or the update corrects a known security issue. This 2016 BIOS update does not correct late 2017 early 2018 Intel processor flaws known as Meltdown and Spectre. Nor does it update to the latest version of Intel MEI firmware.
Your Product was released for sale in 2014. HP is not going to continually release drivers/security fixes for your PC at this point in the PC's life cycle. Running HP Support Assistant when HP is not issuing driver updates for your four plus year old PC is using valuable CPU cycles and memory. These resources could be used elsewhere.
I would not do any of the updates. The BIOS update should be manually installed if you decide to do this update. A bad/failed BIOS update can break your PC.

Hi Again, When checking the two 2018 updates I found one of them Diagnostic which showed HPPC Hardware Diagnostic Tools UEFI, while the other was Uitlity which showed HP Connection Optimizer. I downloaded both files and tried to install both. The Diagnostic installed, while the Utility fiile gave me an error message which said the file is not a valid win32 Application. The utility error is the same message I got when I tried to open the downloaded HP Support Assitant file. Also note that neither was for downloading The Support Assitant. However I was able to open Support Assistant on line, but it said there were no updates for me.

Hi Uncle Dewey,
I messed up on the one update. It was not a newer version of HPSA. But it was an update to HP UEFI diagnostics. The UEFI diagnostic update is a good one to install.
HPSA is telling you what is self evident; HP is not going to provide future Windows 7 updates for your PC.
You don't need HPSA anymore.
