ok thanks. i give up on that pc.. its to old.. thx much but gor  a good question! my other hp 17 lap top hinge broke some how.. but before that itcrashed, i installed a nice 500 gig ssd b4 and ran great for a few months. but anyway.. i moved the ssd to my other asus laptop drive.. but it wants a password i cant remember! , sooo i moved the ssd to ANOTHER surface hp and i was able to save all my files..!,, BUT QUESTION.. as long as im there what folder would the password be in?.. cause now im dyingf to know what it was that i couldnt remeber!,, what do u think thx !!!

Normally you should not be using a system disk from one computer with another.
even less I think, if the brands are different
You could try, but you might have been unable to activate
unfortunately, if you have a password problem, there is nothing we can do for you here

Now there is another alternative where you can use the Registry Editor to locate the username and passwords on Windows. For that firstly turn on your computer and from the desktop main screen, press "Windows + R" key combination and type in "regedit" command in the "Run" dialogue box and hit "Enter". Your registry Editor will open up instantly.

Navigate down to the following pathway: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
