I want to use my old hdd that has Win 10 installed on it as storage. I bought a hard drive enclosure and have everything hooked up tp my desktop. The hard drive shows as recovery image. How do I erase what is on the external drive and format it if needed to just have a blank or empty storage drive?

@rwalton31 , welcome to the forum.

You should go into Disk Management (right click on Start (Windows logo lower left corner) and select Disk Management.  You should be able to right click on the drive and select Format.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
