You mean, if you replace the ssd m2 ..
There should be no problem using a 1tb m2 ssd
instead of 512 gb
But what may be a problem is to find the compatible model
Most often I advise to look at which model is in place, and to buy the same version of greater capacity, this can sometimes be found.
Try the crucial scan, if not compatible, they should refund easily

I advise you all the same to check, if it is possible to add another HDD or SSD disk, it is better to have two drives
The main one, used for windows, and some programs
the second, for personal data, and possibly for other programs

hi

You must have an M2 type SSD

512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
I see you have at least  two or three  free sata port

You need to check if you have a slot for the HDD (or SSD sata)
You will probably need a sata data cable.
The sata power connector, looks special
It may not be available either, and it may be more difficult to find.

Hi, thank you for your help. Is my computer (HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-0xxx) limited to 512GB or can I add 1TB to it?

Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean
If you have free sata ports, you will need a sata cable if it is not in place
How does this relate to sata 1 and sata 2, SATA III ssd? if this is what i understand, it is sata one and two, it is not the type of sata connector, just the port number, that is the question?
see if you have the sata power supply one also, i can not know
For a m2 ssd no choice, only to replace the 512 if that is the question

 different, but see this
