Cannot get through to HP !! new all in one ,got a dvd player but it don,t connect.Do I need a "app" or something for it to play? please I am 74 yrs old

We need information from you to help you!!!

 

You "got a DVD player".  What is it?  Included inside your computer?  External that connects via a USB cable?  A "Standalone" player that is designed to connect to a TV and not a computer???

yes,  unlike windows 10 windows 11 has no built-in software to play DVD video you must use 3rd party software

 

you can try free software or commercial software, personally the free VLC program will do everything commercial/paid software does,  however the free MS software is simple to use and just plays basic DVD's nothing else so it's simple to use
