Hey, ive seen on here that i can upgrade the ram as the pc has 2x 16gb slots but is thsi in place of the 8gb ram? Is the 8gb ram soldered onto the motherboard? i cant find anything online or any manuals etc

Yes the 27-cr0000i is the general model series which comprises many different individual models, so the information I gave you from the parts list is for your specific model number.
You'll find your model on page 2 of the list at the link below, if you select to display the list of PCs by groups of 50.

Hi:
The memory in your PC can be upgraded.
Below is the link to the parts list for your PC.
If you click on the camera icon to the left of the motherboard part number, you will see a picture of the motherboard which has two memory slots.
If you want to install 2 x 16 GB of memory, you will need to remove the 8 GB memory chip in the one slot.
The parts list has the part number for the 8 GB memory chip that HP installed.

Unfortunately, this video is made from taking apart the model with an AMD processor and chipset and this model has memory that is an integral part of the motherboard.
