i am looking for a connector, both PLUG and SOCKET end.
doesn't matter if they are motherboard connectors, or cable connectors, as long as they have ends that i can solder.

the current source plug/socket are a power supply for my hp elitedesk power supply, and the compouter.

see attached

outer diameter is 7.43 mm, inner open diameter is 4.85 mm, wall thickness is 1.29 mm

the center pin is very thin, almost like the center wire of a coax tv cable

any feedback is appreciated.

REASON FOR NEEDING -
I am inserting computer into a safe.
I have a 2-wire connector going form outside the safe to inside the safe.
i need to hook SOCKET up to the outside portoin of wire, and the PLUG to the iner portion of the wire, so i can connect the PLUG of the adaptor to the outside socket, and the PLUG of the inner wire to the SOCKET of the motherboardconnector-hp-(2).jpgconnector-hp-(3).jpgconnector-hp-(4).jpg

thanks for reply.  I will email/contact newark.

i already tried digikey, and TE-connector, and they can't even answer if htey have such a product, they want an industrial quote form filled out, etc.

i've searched through their products, very difficult to navigate.

newark, i believe i've found the PLUG, but no luck with socket, so i'll email them.

again, thanks

if i find the correct numbers, i'll re-post

one other question, any idea if this is 2-conductor, or THREE-conductor (inner part of barrel, outer part of barrel, and pin itself)?

thanks

the connector you reference is commonly found on later model Dell and HP systems as their power supply connection and yes the plug in the middle is used the most common use is for what is called a "one wire" data connection read the link below for more info

thanks again !

on the power adapter brick, for the HP elite mini, it does have the indicator of + and "-" for the outer barrel and inner sleeve of that barrel, and "sens" for the middle thin pin.

the links yo provided give me a little more info, but i still need to find the plug and jack ends themselves to let me make the patch cable.

again, thanks very much !

make the cable yourself by harvesting the connectors/wires from the parts i linked to

if you need the barrel connectors on each end, buy 2 power supplies cut the power cable from both and splice the wires together

same process for making the other connector......................................it's not rocket science

thanks for reply

to clarify - the link to the Suyitai - is that the exact JACK end, that would go on the circuit board?  I was not sure if it was the exact fit.

i don't mind ordering that, for the JACK end to make a cable.

but to buy a power supply and cut the end, that is a bit more expense than i wanted to spend, BEFORE i got some replies back from some of teh connector companies.   One of the companies, i believe, had the actual wire harness with the PLUG on the end (not the full power supply)

re: making myh own cable, i have no problems doing that, once i collect the parts.

ALSO, if you can provide info - what if i CUT the computer-power end of the charger wire -  Are there three conductors in it that i can get to with out destroying them (they are usualy small gauge), ?  I did not want to try that yet, but that would be the simplest way, as i could run a 3-wire connector through the hole in the safe, add WAGO snap-on connectors on the outer portion, and inner portion, and connect the cut strands.  trust me, i have it planned as to what i can do, once i finalize the ends.

but if you tell me that that Suyitai end is the correct one, i will order that now, as that seems to be the hardest part to even see if it is made.

thanks

i believe i have found the JACK/motherboard end.  i have ordered two of these.  that is step 1.

based on your latest post it appears that you are not really suited to make this adapter yourself so recommend you find a ham radio club or possibly a computer user group that has case modders both should have people that are able to do this basic project for you while explaining to you how it's done

i'm not trying to be rude or insulting, but the sites i first linked to have detailed descriptions of the connectors that cover all necessary specs,..... as for your current jack....... a pair of digital or analog calipers will provide the necessary dimensions of your existing connectors and as to connecting which wire to where a simple multimeter gives the answer to that issue

last the dell supply i linked to can be found in numerous wattages, and the 19.5 v 65 watt units are available on ebay for around 10.00
