I have an HP Wireless keyboard, Model: SK-2061 that is not working. I just replaced the batteries. I've tried connecting with bluetooth through my Windows PC. I've recently switch around mouses and keyboards to other laptops and wonder if I've misplaced a USB-A receiver. Does this keyboard require a USB receiver, and if so, can I order a replacement?

Hi @1jerryb1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I'd be happy to help you.

The HP Wireless Keyboard Model: SK-2061 typically requires a USB receiver to connect to your computer. If you have misplaced the USB-A receiver, this could be the reason your keyboard isn't working. Many HP wireless keyboards use an RF connection that relies on a USB dongle rather than Bluetooth. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check for USB Receiver:

  • Inspect the packaging or accessories that came with your keyboard to find the USB receiver. It's often stored in a small compartment or slot within the keyboard or accompanying devices like a mouse.

  • If your keyboard and mouse were part of a set, the receiver might be shared.

Order a Replacement Receiver:

  • If the receiver is indeed missing, you can order a replacement. Contact HP Support or visit their website to inquire about a compatible USB receiver for your specific keyboard model.

  • Ensure the replacement is specifically meant for your keyboard model to ensure compatibility.

Check for Built-in Receiver on Devices:

  • Some of HP's All-in-One desktops may have a built-in USB receiver. Double-check if this might be applicable, especially if your keyboard was originally paired with such a device.

Re-synchronize the Keyboard:

  • If you find the receiver, ensure it is correctly inserted into a USB port on your computer.
  • Follow any re-synchronization instructions available with your keyboard, which may involve pressing a "Connect" button on the keyboard.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
