How to make the M.2 NVMe SSD as your primary (boot) drive: How to install an M.2 SSD - Step By Step Setup Guide and Windows 10 Install - YouTube -btw: do not worry about an M.2 NVMe SSD heatsink. You most likely will not need it.
How to replace the processor (HP timestamp 14:10): Removing & Replacing Parts | HP Desktop M01-F0000 | HP Computer Service | @HPSupport - YouTube. You need thermal paste, such as this example: Amazon.com: ARCTIC MX-4 (incl. Spatula, 4 g) - Premium Performance Thermal Paste for all processors ....
PLEASE NOTE: If you have never replaced a CPU before, here is an example of a detailed how-to YouTube video: How to Install a CPU - YouTube. If you have never swapped a CPU, preferably you should ask a trusted buddy or family member with prior CPU installation experience to assist you.
And lest I forgot: your HP - Compaq HP M01-F1033wb should be fitted with at least 2 x 8GB of DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered UDIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks. Higher speed RAM sticks can be installed (such as DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz), but be aware that RAM speed will then be down throttled to 2666 MHz.

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP Desktop - M01-F1033wb (9EE50AA), according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06687602, is fitted with the BakerMS motherboard (SSID: 8768).
Upgrading suggestions from one User to a fellow User:
1.) I would consider this processor upgrade: i7-10700 or the i7-10700F if you have a discrete graphics card.
2.) I would install a 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD and make that your primary (boot) drive.
3.) You definitely want to upgrade your power supply, which the specs suggest is a wimpy 180-watt power supply. You can upgrade your power supply according to: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Power-Supply-Cross-Reference-for-specific-model..., with a 400-watt power supply (HP p/n: L69242-800), which you can purchase here, for example: https://www.365powersupply.com/product/l69242-800-400w-power-supply-for-hp-86-pro-g2pro-288-g4-g5-mt..., or here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175359740069?epid=18051721413&hash=item28d44148a5%3Ag%3Ao0QAAOSwMlti2lMz&am....
4.) With a 400-watt power supply, I would recommend upgrading your graphics capability with an HP Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6, with purchase options here, for example: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=hp+rtx+3060&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&LH_BIN=1&LH_PrefL....
Hope this was helpful.

Happen to remember you too!
Preferably -that is, in my opinion, you want to purchase drives via Amazon. Here are some quality yet decent priced 1TB M.2 NVMe SSDs -especially the (temporarily) discounted Crucial ($81!):
Looked around for the best i7-10700F deal possible for you and concluded that Amazon too would be the Seller I would recommend at this moment. I purchased an i7-9700KF from Amazon not all that long ago, meaning, if I was in the market to purchase an i7-10700F right now, this is what I would purchase: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-10700F-Desktop-Processor-Graphics/dp/B086MN2XYL/ref=sr_1_2?crid=6QTU....

Please be reminded that the i7-10700F (notice the "F") does not have integrated graphics, meaning you need to have a graphics card. This is irrelevant if you have/plan to purchase a discrete graphics card as discussed, but if you are fine without a GPU, then you should get the i7-10700 with integrated graphics, such as this purchase example: Intel Core i7-10700 8-Core 2.90Ghz SRH6Y 2.90GHZ | eBay, or this purchase example: Intel Core i7-10700 2.9GHz LGA1200 (400/500 Series) Comet Lake Desktop CPU 735858447751 | eBay.
Do NOT buy the i7-10700 "K" or "T" versions.
