Hi @nasgeeked

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The H270 Chipset on your MB supports Skylake CPUs. HP has validated a i3-6100.

The 6600 should work but HP would have to include this specific CPU option in the BIOS firmware.

What I am saying is: it is a hit or miss option.

Try the CPU upgrade if you have the 6600. I don't know if I would try this if you must purchase the 6600 unless the seller provides a refund option.

You can do a i7-7700 on this MB. HP has validated the 7700 on your MB using the factory BIOS.

Regards

@nasgeeked,

An i5-6600 would work just fine in an HP Pavilion 570-p064 (see: HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0XX Performance Results - UserBenchmark), but as @Bill_To mentioned, an i7-7700 would be a much better option (see: UserBenchmark: Intel Core i5-6600 vs i7-7700).

Kind Regards,
