My keyboard is typing combinations of letters/numbers when a single key is pressed. Some keys work correctly; I am having problems with the following:
FIRST ROW OF LETTERS:
q =qa
e=ed
r=rgf
u=uhj
i=ik
o=ol
p=p';
SECOND ROW OF LETTERS:
caps lock key=S\
d=de
f=fr
;=;p
VIA NUMBER PAD
1 =17
2=28
3=39
8=802
4, 5, and 6 and 7 work okay
9=9.3
The numbers at the top of the keyboard work correctly and the bottom row of letters (z through /) is working correctly. But due to the 15 or so keys that are not working, the keyboard is unusable. My husband loaned me a spare keyboard to type this inquiry. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?
Thank you

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
Please run a Keyboard Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Keyboard
Thank you

Thank you but I have already ascertained that the keyboard is malfunctioning as the keyboard that was loaned to me is working fine. So I'll just use this keyboard for now and spare myself additional aggravation/frustration and wasted time.
Thanks again. I appreciate your response.
