I have received an "HP notification" stating "low system memory", but when I go to system storage in Windows where, of the 475 GB of system memory, I still have 181 GB "free". I have already cleaned out the temporary windows folders. Do I really have a memory problem?

Hi @smeyer1
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It appears that there might be some confusion between storage space (which refers to the capacity of your hard drive) and system memory (RAM). The notification you received about "low system memory" is likely referring to RAM rather than storage space on your hard drive. Here is a brief explanation to clarify:
System Memory (RAM): This is the memory that your computer uses to perform tasks. When you run applications, they use RAM to operate smoothly. Low system memory notifications usually refer to insufficient RAM, which can impact the performance and responsiveness of your computer.
Storage (Hard Drive or SSD): This is where your files, applications, and operating system are stored. Your storage capacity is separate from your system memory (RAM).
Steps to Resolve Low System Memory Notification:
Close Unnecessary Applications: Ensure you close applications that are not in use to free up system memory.
Check RAM Usage:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
- Navigate to the Performance tab and check the Memory section to see your RAM usage.
Increase Virtual Memory:
- Go to Settings > System > About.
- Click on Advanced system settings on the right.
- In the System Properties window, go to the Advanced tab and click Settings under Performance.
- Select the Advanced tab and click on Change under Virtual Memory.
- Adjust the Virtual Memory settings to increase the size of the paging file.
Upgrade RAM: If your RAM is consistently low, consider upgrading the memory on your HP All-in-One Desktop PC 24-cb1000i to allow the system to handle more applications smoothly.
