HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two problems The front USB port is bad and I need a replacement part. Web page was no help. Also, Windowns 10 says my system is not adequate for Windows 11, even though it is only five years old. It appears to be the CPU. What CPU can I replace it with that will work? The one I have is Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz

@Lloyd,

Your HP Pavilion 570-p023w Desktop PC (Z5N85AA), as fitted with a Lubin motherboard (SSID: 82F2) was first released in 2017 and was designed for 7th gen Intel processors only.

The part that should fix your USB issue has p/n: 919812-001 "Front Bezel - USB 3.0, A+C, PSU, TwkBlack, Shave3", which can be purchased inexpensively via eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313&_nkw=HP+919812-001&_sacat=0.

The fact that Microsoft 'determined' that 7th gen processors are 'not adequate' to run W11, doesn't mean in the least that you can't, or shouldn't.

Expert @Paul_Tikkanen has provided easy to follow instructions how to get from W10 to W11 in a jiffy: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Issues-upgrading-to-windows-11....

Many HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0XX desktops are running on W11 these days, such as this example: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/51394117.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for that. But the part for the USB appears to be merely the cover. I'm pretty sure the actual USB pot is the problem as some USB cords won't fit and if they do, don't work.
