Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a USB 3 HP flash drive. It is a 256Gb flash drive. I was using it to create a recovery disk and now when I plug it in to my computer it is telling that it is 32Gb. I tried to reformat it but it still says 32GB. Any ideas if this can be put back to 256GB or is this a permanent result? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi,

Well, the drive could be in trouble. But I have had this happen in the past.

You can't recover the space using Windows. So I use MiniTool Partition Wizard free (Link) to fix the drive. The drive is probably bad if MiniTool Partition Wizard can't fix the problem.

Read the user guide to recover the flash drive. The process is involved and it would be lengthy to describe in a forum.

I have restored full storage access to flash drives using this software.

Regards

Thanks for the info. I was able to restore almost all of the Gb's to the flash drive. I now have 230Gb. It was showing 32Gb so I am happy with that.

I really appreciate your come back. Thanks again.

Jim
