Product: HP Pavilion p7-1054 Desktop PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

To install Windows 11 on my HP Pavilion model p7-1054 it needs a newer CPU.  Originally this desktop was running Windows 7.  I upgraded to Windows 8 and then Window 10 when they came out.  The CPU is AMD Athlon II X4 645 Quad-Core.  What modern CPU that will run Windows 11 is compatible with this old computer?

Hi:

 

There aren't any processors that you can install in your PC that meet Microsoft's minimum AMD processor requirements for W11.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

 

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
