Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP Pavilion 690-0034 Gaming Desktop PC (3LB47AA) as fitted with a Sunflower motherboard (SSID: 8433), can be fitted with at least a 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD if you so choose. Your M.2 NVMe SSD slot is Gen3.
Here is an example of your desktop fitted with a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
And here is an example of a closely related desktop (SSID: 843B) fitted with a 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

Thank you for your response NonSequitur777. It helped me to look elsewhere for the fix. Once I put the newly cloned M.2 drive in my computer and went to the bios and selected it as the boot drive, it booted up beautifully. Thanks for all the great information.
