I want to see if uefi will support tpms but it reports that there is a newer version of uefi diagnostics available. How do I update uefi diagnostics?

@heatman5, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To update the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI on your HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-n160xt CTO, follow these steps:

Download the Latest HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI:

  • Go to the HP PC Diagnostics home page.
  • Select "Diagnose PC Hardware Issues outside of the OS".
  • Once the options expand, click on "Download".
  • Select "Open" or "Save As" to download the latest diagnostics tool to a location on your computer.

Update using HP Support assistant:

I recommend downloading the HP Support Assistant and running the recommended updates through it. This might help resolve the issue.

Reference: HP PCs - Using HP Support Assistant (Windows) | HP® Support

Installing the Update:

  • Make sure your computer is connected to AC power to avoid power loss during the update.
  • Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the installation on your PC.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Garp, Thank you for your reply. I read that if you want to run these files from your harddrive, it has to be formatted for fat or fat32. The harddrive on this pc is formatted for NTFS. I tried performing these functions with a usb thumbdrive formatted for fat32, but it doesn't work. When I get into UEFI Diagnostics to choose where to find the update files, nothing happens when I point the program to the thumbdrive (in this case drive "F". It sees drive "F" as HP_TOOLS" but does nothing. I don't see where to go from here. All of this is because Windows 11 won't allow the upgrade because it says the processor isn't fast enough. The processor in this system is 2.2 ghz. It also wants TPMS, which I don't think is on this older system, but wanted to see what the HP Diagnostics could reveal. It's my wife's former work (work from home) PC and I thought I could make it useful helping me pull family photos from old harddrives via usb. I don't want to run out of support with an OS that's dead ended. Thanks for your help.

sincerely,

john
