Microsoft Windows 11

I just got an HP Slim S01-pf4055t compact desktop PC.

Online said to upgrade RAM I would need:  DDR4 PC4-2500 3200MHz Non-ECC SODIMM memory sticks.

An online vendor said I need desktop RAM, and recommended DIMM sticks.

So which is it I really need to get...DIMM or SODIMM??

You need to use UDIMM memory used in most desktop PC's.

Below is the link to the parts list for your PC.

If you click on the camera icon on the left of the 8 GB memory chip part number, you can see what the memory chip looks like.  It appears the picture is of the back of the memory that doesn't show the little black memory chips.

HP PartSurfer

Notebooks use SODIMM memory.

Looks like the specs indicate the PC comes with 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory.

So, if you want to double the memory to 2 x 16 GB you would want a kit like this:

Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4-3200 UDIMM | CT2K16G4DFRA32A | Crucial.com
