Hi adammo510
Did you try installing the 730?
I had an HP h8-1360 and could not install a graphics card that was not on the list of options at purchase.
Here are the cards that will work on your PC:
- GeForce GT 530 (2 GB)
- GeForce GT 545 (3 GB)
- GeForce GTX 550i (1 GB)
- GeForce GTX 580 (1.5 GB)
- Radeon HD 6570 (1 GB)
- Radeon HD 6670 (1 GB)
- Radeon HD 6850 (1 GB)
That is why it is better to build or buy a new system.
The PCIe bus on your PC is limited to PCIe x16 gen 1. So the newer graphics cards are Gen three but will work on Gen two PCIe X16 slots, but not Gen one slots. The newer graphics cards, for the most part, require UEFI BIOS. Your PC does not support UEFI BIOS.
Installing a new motherboard in your chassis is possible. But you will also have to upgrade the RAM, The processor, and possibly the power supply and the operating system. Microsoft ties the OS to the motherboard. It is sometimes possible to activate a motherboard upgrade. But Microsoft sometimes sends the user to the OEM for support.
