I found that Chipset Intel Q170 Compatible with 7th Generation

Important: Below is a support list for the Q170 chipset, and not a support list for your motherboard, built on that chipset. The chipset is only one of key elements that determine CPU compatibility. Other key factors are: socket type, package type, maximum Thermal Design Power, BIOS version, CPU core name and stepping. For that reason not all motherboards, built on the chipset, will be compatible with all listed processors. Please use the list only as a guidance.

 

If any Intel 7th gen core processors were supported, HP would have included them in the quickspecs list.

 

Here are all the BIOS release notes for the 800 G2 desktop PC model series.  As you can see, no BIOS updates added support for additional processors.

That is all the info I can offer.

 

I cannot find one post on this forum where someone installed an Intel 7th gen processor in the 800 G2 model series, so there is nothing to go on other than the specs.
