HP Slimline Desktop - 410-010 (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Attempting to upgrade from Win10 to Win11 my desktop does not meet the TPM requirement.  TPM 2.0 not detected.  Processor is not currently supported for Win 11.  Processor Intel core3-4170 CPU 370ghz.  What to I have to change or install in the computer to make it compatible?  Just do not want to invest in a new computer right now.  This one is not that old.

BTW I know there are some work arounds that will not be supported.  Would prefer not to go that direction.

Hi:

Besides not having a TPM 2.0 device, your PC's 4th gen Intel core processor is also not supported for W11, and your PC's motherboard does not support any upgrades to a W11-capable processor (Intel Core 8th gen or newer).

If you want to install W11, then you will have to use a workaround.

This one is the easiest...

Thanks Paul.  This is what I expected.  Just easier to purchase a new computer.   I have a concern with the work around and Microsoft not supporting it with the updates etc.  I just stick with the computer I have now and wait until MS does not support Win10 or the computer quits.  Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my request.

Think carefully, before taking the risk, see the experiences of other users, see if it can be interesting, or if you can wait to have a new computer later, 100% compatible!
Windows 10 remains one of the best systems, and can be used for quite a while.

I have performed the installation with a compatible computer ..
And I can not take full advantage of the more or less interesting features, because you have to have a certain material
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-specifications
So far, so there is nothing extraordinary about this system
So if the computer is not compatible, you have little interest in using it ..
In some cases, we can have more problem than something else (performance etc), it is better to wait until most of the bugs are solved.
And even better to have a 100% compatible computer, in order to be able to take advantage of the available features

While this may work, there may also be issues.
For some, an improvement, for others, not much!
This is what I see on my computer
You still have plenty of time with windows 10..
it may be like the other systems, where we can still use it despite everything ..

You're very welcome.

So far all of my unsupported W11 PC's have gotten all of the updates because I check them against a fully qualified W11 PC that I have.

I feel the same way. I'll just keep it until Windows Ten is no longer supported.

Thanks,  I am just going to continue with Win10 until they stop supporting it or my computer crashes.

Hi

@David1214

I don't know what your computer is, but HP is not at fault here.
Ok, some models are difficult to upgrade, but for many models, whether hp or another, a device that has been manufactured, put into circulation at some point

Will not necessarily be able to be upgraded indefinitely, requirements change, it goes very quickly!
Here the problem comes mainly from Microsoft which has decided, for reasons of their own, to limit the Windows 11 upgrade to a certain type of hardware.
They had already changed the requirements, with windows 10, for certain configurations, the user had no or difficulty in installing windows 7 on his own machine
it's like that

Not blaming HP.  Just want to see if I could upgrade it.  No issues here.  Thanks for feedback
