Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP ENVY Desktop 795-00xx according to: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/11320777, is fitted with the HP Berks motherboard (SSID: 844C).
When we look at actual real-life performance benchmark scores submitted by 795-00xx (Berks motherboard) users here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-ENVY-Desktop-795-00xx/92204, we find that this desktop can be fitted with ANY (ultra) high performance M.2 NVMe Gen3 x4 SSDs such as these:
1.) Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN570 NVMe Internal Solid State Drive SSD - Gen3 x4 PCIe 8Gb/s, M.2 2280, Up to 3,500 Mbps - WDS100T3B0C [performance score: 230%]
2.) HP EX950 M.2 1TB PCIe 3.1 x4 NVMe 3D TLC NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) 5MS23AA#ABC, Sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500 Mbps/2,900 Mbps [performance score: 249%]
3.) SK Hynix Platinum P41 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 2280 Internal SSD l Up to 7,000 Mbps Compact M.2 SSD Form Factor SK hynix SSD - Internal Solid State Drive with 176-Layer NAND Flash SHPP41-2000GM [performance score: 256%]
4.) Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology (MZ-V7S500B/AM) Sequential read and write performance levels of up to 3,500 Mbps/3,300 Mbps [performance score: 272%]
5.) Kingston SKC2500M8/1000G - 1TB SSD Series Kc2500 M.2 Format 2280 Nvme High Speed and Self-Encryption AES 256 Bits 96-layer 3D TLC NAND. With read/write speeds up to 3,500 Mbps/2,900 Mbps [performance score: 319%]
You want specific recommendations what you should choose as your primary (boot) drive? -I can do that. Here you go: Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB or the Samsung 980 SSD 1TB, best value/performance/speed/reliability for cost in my opinion.
Btw, not to digress, but your desktop is compatible with the i9-9900K.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

if need SSD type m2
you can trust the recommendations already given, just see in relation to your budget, they are all of good quality
etc
if it's a sata ssd you need, i recommend the crucial mx500 ssd, good value for money, i installed it in my old hp computer
upgrade computer h9-1228ef motherboard IPMMB-FM (Formosa)
But you have the generally more expensive, but significantly better performing WD Blue SATA SSDs
recommended several times here
