can i install and use SSD in my

According to this spec you have an M.2 expansion slot but the fine print does not say if it is for reserved for WiFi or can be used for storage.
Here is another spec for 280 G3 which indicates you got a pair with one for Wi-Fi the other for storage.
I cannot tell which G3 you got unlike a real HP techie but can make a recommendation.
If empty, then you can add an inexpensive M.2 like 256gb or less and install a tool like PrimoCache which can speedup all your hard drives including booting speed of windows.
Alternately, you can add a 1TB and clone your existing C drive to it then pull the original C drive and set it aside for a while to make sure the M.2 does not have a startup failure problem. If all works OK then reformat the old drive and stick it back in.
If not empty you are probably booting Windows from it already.
