Hello im trying to upgrade my graphics card and i was told i need to upgrade my power supply currently i have the PS-4501-2 and my mother board is the HP 87C3? how much power can that motherboard handle so when i buy a new one it doesn't fry or worse break my computer??  the graphics card i have is an Nvidia GeForce rtx 2060

You should be able to upgrade to any standard ATX power supply unit (PSU).  I suggest measuring the current PSU and compare the measurements to any that you choose to assure it will fit into the space provided.  I like Corsair products.  They provide clean, stable power.

 

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading a video card.  Once you have read the article you will have a better idea of what to consider when buying a new PSU.
