HP p6604y
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The new updated driver [nov 2017]did not work on my HP p6604y system. I lost HD and Icons and Text were fuzzy. I rolled back to the earlier driver [2015]and everything is fine now. Just wanted to let tec support know about the problem for helping out others and maybe inspire the fix it crew.

Another contributor on this forum has stated that Microsoft has released an update that fixes/replaces the bad Microsoft update.

Run Windows Update, and see if it downloads & installs this latest update.

Tell us the result.

I'll do my best to be a good citizen while on here. but I'm Old Old school on tec stuff, I was just getting to able to get around on a 6502 chip with ML rutines and then everything took off like a rockett. re learning a new chip over and over again was not for me.

Jimmermi....that is the exact problem I have...Could you give me a step by step on how to roll back the driver to the earlier 2015 version? I'm not very computer savy, so the more the info the better. Thanks in advance for any assistance. This blurry screen is making me crazy.

I am having same problem, I even tried updating Windows.    I read in another forum that there is a driver to fix this.   Where is the driver ?    When I tried to search online, I only get vendors trying to sell me stuff and mess up my pc.    I cant believe that Windows 10 made an update, and HP doesnt have a driver that works.   I am just trying to set my resolution back to 1920x1080, but its not in the drop down box.    Please help.

Hi d9094

I clicked on the update and the system gave me an offer to roll back to the old driver (dated 2015) and that is what I did and it fixed everything. ( it took good full day for everything to switch back to normal but it did. in this feed there was a reply of a fix that ready to go but I'm happy with the way things are so I didn't try it.

Two methods:

1. Run "Windows Update".  Microsoft has released an update to supercede the update that causes the symptoms.

2. Open the Windows "Device Manager".

Expand the "Display Adapters" branch of the device-tree.

Double-click on the name of your display adapter.

Click the "Properties" tab.

Click "Roll Back Driver".

Reboot.
