Accidentally deleted the browser (Edge) Win 7 and can't find the Recovery disk for this PC.

Subject pretty much tells it. I deleted the internet browser. I can't find the recovery disk for this computer.

Desktop ISO Microsoft Windows 7. Can't get online to get anything as ... there is NO browser. I don't even know how I ended up deleting it. It's my husband's and he is not computer minded to do anything but Play games and wander the internet. I don't want win 10 for him.

Welcome to HP Support Forum. Windows Edge won't come with Windows 7, it comes with Windows 10 and can't be downloaded from Store.

If you wish, you can reinstall Internet Explorer or using other browser such as Chrome, Firefox.

1. Hold down the "Windows" key (bottom-left of your keyboard).

2. Press and release the "R" key.

3. Release the Windows key.

4. Into the window, type:    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"  

   exactly as shown, with the quotes.  There is exactly ONE blank between 'ram' and 'fil'.

5. Press ENTER.

6. Internet Explorer should start.

I get a notice that the "location is not available". Told you I deleted it. 😉 I may have to look harder for the recovery disk for that computer. Thanx. We'll keep trying.

There is NO browser to use for this. Sorry. I deleted ALL browsers. It does keep him off the internet but that's not a solution I guess. 😉

Sharing my thought process:

None of these have helped...I'm just going to box it up and let the Geek Squad deel with it...Geek Squad...Old Geek Squad Files in file cabinet...

I look and what do I find ?  The recovery disks for that computer.

I Thank you all and will close out for sure in a little but it is reformating as I speak.

Open the Windows "File Explorer".

Navigate to the 'C:\' folder.

Is there a 'Program Files' folder visible?

Open that folder.

Is there an 'Internet Explorer' folder visible?

Open that folder.

Is there a file 'iexplore.exe' in that folder?

Is there a file 'ieinstal.exe' in that folder?  (Yes, 'IE' and 'install', but with just one 'l'.)

Navigate to the 'C:\' folder.

Is there a 'Program Files (x86)' folder visible?

Open that folder.

Is there an 'Internet Explorer' folder visible?

Open that folder.

Is there a file 'iexplore.exe' in that folder?

Is there a file 'ieinstal.exe' in that folder?  (Yes, 'IE' and 'install', but with just one 'l'.)

What happens when you double-click one of those 'ieinstal.exe' files?

Tell us where in the above list of commands that you cannot proceed to the next item in the list.

Or, a different approach:

Open "Control Panel".

Navigate to:  Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features

Click "Turn Windows features on or off".

Click to turn "off" the 'Internet Explorer 11'.

Close the window, and let Windows reconfigure your system.

Click "Turn Windows features on or off".

Click to turn "on" the 'Internet Explorer 11'.

Close the window, and let Windows reconfigure your system.

I am done. Reformated. Labling disks so I don't "lose" them again. Now to reinstall his programs. All is well.
