After purchase can I add additional 8GB memory if needed?.  New unit comes with 8GB

Yes.  simply remove the back panal of the machine.  you may need to remove the motherboard to gain access to the opposite side of the motherboard to install the ram but yes it is upgradable.  It uses PC4-17000 (DDR4-2133).
