I have two Western Devices attached to my computer.  I store all of my picures and painter backups on these two devices.  When I first boot my computer up in the AM sometimes the drives are recognized and other times they are not.  I cannot figure out why this happens.  On my old computer which was also running windows 10 my drives were always recognized.  On this computer when the error occurs,  I have to go into device manager and find the drives and indicate update drivers in order to get them to work.  Both attached drives work okay until I shut the computer down for the evening and restart in the morning.  Other times my devices are recognized right away without me having to do anything to them.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I may have resolved my problem.  I had encountered problems with my computer last week not opening some of HP's installed programs and spent two hours on the phone with a HP technician.  During this time the technician  literally took over my computer to see what was happening.  The technician had gone through and disabled all of my start menus to see if this would resolve my problem.  One of the items disabled was the WD disk start up so I have now enabled it and so far it appears to be working.      The technician explained that they have encountered quite a few problems with windows 10 and how it interacts with the computer.  This new computer came with windows 10 installed while my old computer had been upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and I did not have the problems that I am having now.

Hi,

I just purchased a new HP laptop to replace my old Dell desktop. I used Western digital backup to transfer my settings to the new lap top and now the new laptop does not reflect the files and settings that I transferred. Any advice
