HP 260 G2 Desktop Mini PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to upgrade BIOS on HP 260 G2.

I went to the link which has sp113399.exe: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-260-g2-desktop-mini-pc/10049306/swItem...

I run the sp.exe file, and it extracts to c:\swsetup\sp113399 but in the folder is only hpwingui.exe.

When hpwingui.exe runs it says ROM not found. I have upgraded BIOS before successfully on other HP machines so is something wrong with sp113399.exe? I do not see a .bin file like I see with other updates.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Vincent Lozano

Hello,

Can anyone confirm that there should be a .bin file after sp113399.exe is extracted?

BIOS updates for other models show .bin files.

Is there a bug in the BIOS update? There are no previous BIOS updates that I can check.

Sincerely,

Vincent Lozano

Hi Wolfgang, thank you for confirming it's not just me.

Is HP Support reading this? How do we notify the engineers there is an issue with the BIOS update for the HP 260 G2?

A recent thread was created which has now been deleted of a user that had the same issue. According to my memory, there were 2 "I have the same issue" markers on that thread, which would make this 4 of us with this issue.

Deleted thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/HP-260-G2-BIOS-UPD...

Edit: it appears the other issue is here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/HP-260-G2-BIOS-UPD...

I have the same problem - the downloaded package (sp113399.exe) does not have a binary firmware file.

PS: You can view the contents of the executable using WinRAR:
