Hi I have a HP Pavilion p7-1100 Desktop PC series I am trying to do a BIOS update but the update fails I get a message the update is invalid or corupted (252). My motherboad is a Hibiscus AMD sFM1 with AMD A8 Processor. The reason I am updating my BIOS is the computer wont correctly shut down its goes into a suspend state all lights stay on but screen turns off. The only way to fully shut my computer down is hold the power button down til it full shuts off. Can anyone please help. My current BIOS version is 7.07 the update I am trying to install is 7.15.
Thanks!

Thank you for the additional information, @shawn4760.]
You can't use any BIOS updates that are not provided by HP. Their motherboards are made to their specs and the retail versions are not necessarily the same. Therefore, none of the BIOS updates for retail mobos with work. HP has discontinued providing updates for any computers released before 2013. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but I am just the messenger.

@shawn4760, welcome back to the forum.
What is the full model or product number of the computer? There are several models in the p7-1100 series.

You are welcome. Thank you for the additional information, @shawn4760.
Please "Edit" your post and remove the Serial #. You can find the Edit option in the Options drop-down menu. It is not good to provide personal information in Forums.
The product number that you provided doesn't appear to be correct. Here is a guide to help you find it.

You are welcome, @shawn4760.
I believe that your computer originally came with Win 7 installed. If this is correct, you won't be able to update the BIOS in Win 10 with the available BIOS updates. They are for Win 7.

Hi @old_geekster thanks for the information yes I believe this pc had Windows 7 on it I cant remember cause that old HHD died with the original motherboard. I just installed a replacement motherboard and new HHD with Windows 10 on it and now my computer wont fully shut down. Without getting a Windows 7 installion disk and reloading Windows 7 I am screwed at the moment lol. Would you have any idea where I can find a copy of Windows 7?
Thanks!
