I can't find the bit recovery key anywhere.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Mariep48

Sorry to see you need a BitLocker key. I'm guessing you are locked out of Windows and did not know BitLocker (W11 Home, Device Encryption) was enabled. HP ships newer PCs with Device Encryption enabled by default.

Unfortunately, you may have to do a HP Cloud Recovery and you will lose any data you have not backed up if you are locked out of Windows and you did not associate this PC with a Microsoft account.

The key may be stored in your Microsoft account. I can't say for sure because I avoid BitLocker.

You really need to provide a specific HP Product Number, 24-Df0000i is a generic product name. Some of the PCs in the product series may have shipped with W10 or W11.

HP Cloud Recovery info can be reviewed at this HP Site. You may have to go back to W10 if your PC shipped with W10. You can create the 32 GB or > USB cloud recovery drive on a different PC using a specific HP product number.

Disable Device Encryption in Control Panel after doing a cloud recovery.

Regards
