Greetings @pymkatz

Welcome back to the Forum.

Sorry to see this.

Microsoft is enabling BitLocker in Control Panel>Device Encryption on consumer PCs.

The user has no idea BitLocker is enabled.

Sometimes the TPM gets corrupted or it can happen after a BIOS update. Then a valid BitLocker recovery key will not work.

All data on the encrypted disk is inaccessible. I hope you have been doing routine data backups to external media.

You're going to have to reinstall Windows if the BitLocker key does not work.

You can do the HP Cloud Recovery option.

Disable BitLocker on all drives after doing a HP Cloud Recovery.

Regards
