HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PC 15-eu1000 (4V9Q2AV)

Hello,

My computer is having a blue screen with stop code: DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG. I tried looking it up online to find other solutions. I found some methods:

  1. Change SATA Controller Settings in BIOS.
  2. Check Volume Shadow Copy Service.
  3. Run a full system scan with antivirus.
  4. Run SFC to repair PC registry.
  5. Run Windows Automatic Repair.

Yet, when I am in the BIOS settings, I do not have or see SATA controller. Can someone please assist me with this?

Thanks so much!

The DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG blue screen error can be troublesome. Here are some suggestions based on common methods to resolve this issue:

Change SATA Controller Settings in BIOS:

  • If the option is not visible in your BIOS, it might be hidden under a different name or might not be available on your specific PC model. Checking your HP PC's user manual or contacting HP support for model-specific instructions might help.

Check Volume Shadow Copy Service:

  • Ensure the Volume Shadow Copy service is running.
  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Volume Shadow Copy, right-click, and select Start.

Run a Full System Scan with Antivirus:

  • Use your preferred antivirus software to scan your system for any potential threats or malware.

Run System File Checker (SFC):

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • This tool will scan and attempt to repair your system files.

Run Windows Automatic Repair:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
  • Click Restart Now under Advanced Startup.
  • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Automatic Repair.

HP Support Assistant:

  • HP Support Assistant is pre-installed on HP devices and helps maintain peak performance through automatic updates and built-in diagnostics.
  • You can access it by clicking the question mark (?) icon in your taskbar or using Windows search to type ‘HP Support Assistant’.
  • It offers tools like Fixes & Diagnostics and Guided Troubleshooters through HP Virtual Agent for resolving various issues.
