Example: Pavilion 595

Hello,

the HP assistant on my PC asked for a BIOS update, which I did.

After that I got every 10 minutes a bluescreen with the code "System Service Exception".

How can I resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Girband

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,  I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, let's perform BIOS rollback using key combination:

  1. Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.

  2. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds.

Keyboard highlighting the key presses for BIOS recovery

  3. Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.

    • If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows key and the V key. If the screen still does not display, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue. Continue to the next section to Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive.

    • If the Power light turns off, the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the Power button for only 2 to 3 seconds.

    • If a BIOS recovery message repeatedly displays, continue to the next section to Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

many of us have reported this same issue....somehow I finally got rid of it, I don't know quite how, but I'll tell you what I did,

start with this...

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-pavilion-595-p0000-desktop-pc-series/19390512/document/c0412...

I performed the recovery using key press option.  But after doing this, the problem unfortunately didn't correct.

I then ran windows update and downloaded everything that came up even the optional stuff.  I did this over a couple of days....as different stuff "magically" appeared....maybe because of the BIOS recovery.  The problem disappeared.

HP shouldn't be introducing updates until fully tested.....good luck

Hello,

thanks for your answer.

I could do the BIOS rollback process but the Bluescreen keeps coming after a few minutes.

Still with the code System Service Exception

What next could help?

Thanks in advance,

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like the windows operating system is not installed correctly due to that computer is not booting into windows desktop.

The last thing I can suggest trying to restore back to the factory settings. Performing an HP system recovery (Windows ) While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello,

I could finally solve the issue with the following command:

cmd

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

It did the trick.
