Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Recently I've updated my laptop with a Microsoft update and suddenly the laptop became slower; so I restarted it and now the initial startup just comes up with:

"Boot Device Not Found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk (3F0)."

Side note: my older HP laptop has also succumb to this update and is now in the same brain dead state as the newer one. Should I just replace them at this point? I've fiddled a bit already with trying to fix it such as using installation media but to no effect.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Microsoft operating system updates (version 1903) can sometimes cause the symptoms you now see.

Run HP Diagnostics (Link) to verify the HDD is okay.

Getting back to a previous version of Windows 10 (W10) in your situation is a convoluted process.

Let the forum know how the hardware diagnostics go before we try any W10 remediation stuff.

You may have to reinstall an older version of W10 if all W10 recovery efforts fail.

I hope you backup data.

Regards
