Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Earlier today I attempted to reset the pc to factory settings. Everything looked fine as it was doing it’s thing until it reached about 70% completion then I’m assuming the reset failed. Then a blue window popped up that had the options To either exit and start up windows 10 without any issues, or troubleshoot the problem or turn off my pc. The moment I clicked the trouble shoot option it attempted something and failed almost immediately and my pc rebooted.
Now when I turn on my PC I get a black screen that says:

checking media presence... media present... start PXE over IPV4
after a few seconds it then says the same thing but with “ start PXE over IPV6  “ instead at the end

after a few more seconds I get a blue screen that says 

boot device not found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk.

Im not a very tech savvy guy but I’ve been trying to look through forums and videos for different solutions. Many say to start up bios and such but when ever I click my F10 It throws me into the HP setup utility.

It looks nothing like what I see on videos or pictures online. If I reboot my computer and hold escape a little menu does pop up but when I click F10 for Bios set up it just takes me to HP setup utility. Is there anyway to navigate through this and start up my computer ?

Just to add extra information here I have pressed F2 and a window that says “hp pc hardware diagnostics UEFI” has appeared. I have done the memory test and the hard drive check and they both say PASSED when I’ve clicked them.

Hi

3F0 is a failed / failing hard disk.

 

Since you have done an F2 diagnostic and it has passed, and if we accept the result,

then next is a software solution...

 

From 2016 onwards there is a possible recovery option via the cloud...

This First part only works when a valid Recovery Partition is enabled.
If it displays an error message then move onto the Second part,
OR if you have data you wish to try and save using the XCOPY command.
Then create your own Repair/Recovery/Rebuild/Re-install media or buy a set from HP.

Turn off the computer.
Disconnect all connected devices and cables, Media Drives, USB drives, printers, & faxes.
Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, or power cord.
WARNING - ONE WAY ONLY, WIPES ALL DATA - NON-RECOVERABLE
Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key, about once every second,
until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.

On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot, and work your way through the screens.

Second Part:-
This may require another PC. Find and Download your .iso from…

Expand/Extract/Burn the iso Image onto a DVD/USB as needed.
Microsoft’s Creator Tool will make the required DVD or USB.

Even though it has NO actual HP software/drivers included, you may be able to
XCOPY the C:\Users\* area onto a ‘large’ USB stick, via the Command Prompt.

You’ll need to try various drive letters; D:..-..Z: until it’s matched - could be G; mine’s S:

C:\>XCOPY C:\Users\* S:\ /e /i /h (then files like those 3 listed below get copied over)

C:\Users\desktop.ini
C:\Users\All Users\agent.1509128044.bdinstall.bin
C:\Users\All Users\HP Deskjet 2540 series\Help\flash\zoom.swf

Then you can try System Recovery Options / Advanced Options shown in the screenshots.

NB: - W10 Begin with the Automatic Repair, then Startup Settings etc.

From either the C:\ or the X:\ prompt try the following

cd boot
bootrec /FixMBR
bootrec /FixBoot
bootrec /RebuildBCD
