Hard drive failed. Unable to boot computer. Trying to boot from USB thumb drive or a DVD. Have purchased a new SDD but it is labelled a "G" drive. Unable to boot the computer. Pressing the ESC key during start up doesn't work. Nor dos the F9 key.

@NickBridge  Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to access boot sequence.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

As you have stated that hard drive is failed. Have you performed the hard drive test and checked?

Please remove the hard drive connection and then only install the SSD and check.
