Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been unable to install the Windows 10 Fall Creators update on any of my HP business desktops. I've tried on 3 different models of desktops and notebooks and every one of them fails.

I have read on some forums that it might be due to UEFI settings in these HP computers. Is that true and does anyone have any instructions for modifying those settings to allow this update to install without failing?

Microsoft has apparently fixed the problem in the last week or so with their latest updates for the install. It is installing successfully now.

Hi

Update from what current OS?

W10 normally wants a GPT type of partitioning and Secure Boot.

I'm upgrading from the Windows Creators Update to the new Windows Fall Creators update. There are a lot of people complaining about this problem, especially with HP computers. There are lots of conversations you'll find on this issue if you search the problem, but I haven't found any helpful answers.

If you could not upgrade to Win10 Fall Creator, so the only way is installing a new one on your PC, especially with the UEFI system.

Hi

This is a HP laptop.

My update took an hour, BUT it was not HP "software" on there.

I formatted my HDD removing all traces of HP software.

I made a DVD with W10 on it, used it to install W10 on my Acer and then my HP laptops.

Add in the drivers et al as required.

I do something like this (taking HP out of the equation)....

ADJUST SECURE/LEGACY BOOT & BOOT ORDER AS NEEDED.
