1) I dropped a cup of coffee on my HP Pavilion Laptop intel core i7 8th generation yesterday. It was still working. I wiped it up, and let it dry out for about 4 hours. It was still working.
2) I began to use it again, and after 3 hours, it stopped working for me. The error messaage it gave me was "Hard Drive Does Not Exist." (My best guess is that the coffee that seeped through the keys before I could wipe it up is causing havoc.)
3) I have gone through all of the tutorials I could find on the HP help pages. (2 hours worth of looking for ways to fix it). Nothing has worked.
4) I am getting desperate. It is not the kind of oomputer where you can take the battery out.
5) any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

Here are some tips on dealing with liquid damage: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/you-just-spilled-water-or-coffee-on-your-laptop-heres-what-you-should-d...
However ... it's most likely that SOME damage was done, regardless of how quickly you turned off the laptop and what you did afterward. The key problems are only the surface and almost certainly, more damage was done than that.
The ONLY way to know for sure is to take or send it to an HP Service Center and pay a LOT of money for them to run full diagnostics on it, and after that, to disassemble it to repair or replace any damaged components.
And, if the motherboard is damaged, the cost of repair can easily exceed the cost of replacing the laptop -- because (as far as I know) water damage is NOT covered under the warranty.
