Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello Community,

On Thursday, I ran DBAN on the hard disk to securely erase all of the previous owner's data. After 6 hours of it running the DoD Short erasure process. I tried to install Windows Vista SP2 32-bit, and it wouldn't install it would give me the error saying that Windows couldn't enter the next phase of the installation. It was when it had just finished the "Installing Updates" part and looked like it was going to ask me to restart. I have tried Vista on a USB Flash Drive and a CD, neither which solved my problem, SP1 on a USB wouldn't get to the installation wizard while SP2 would get to the "Installing Windows" part but never complete it. The installer did manage to boot Vista files on the hard drive though it says "BOOTMGR IS MISSING, PRESS CTRL, ALT + DELETE TO RESTART" I've tried using the Compaq Recovery Disc that I found on the Internet Archive that said would work on SR5000 series Desktops which didn't work:

Compaq Presario SR5000 Recovery DVD's : Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq : Free Download, Borrow, ...

And now I'm trying to download a HDD Dump of a Compaq Presario SR5130NX to try and put on the machine.

HP Compaq Presario SR5130NX HDD dump : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

I am almost out of ideas and if someone could please help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
