HI - When I go to turn my computer on it only comes up with the screen saying your Computer has run into a problem and needs to restart. Each time it restarts though, it says it has run into a problem again. What is the best way to get my computer and get it back to normal without losing my data? Its really important I don't lose the data I have on it at the moment, so even though there is an option to off load information onto a USB - I just wanted to get advice first!
Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Alannah

Hi @alannahn,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP computer is stuck on a blue screen with an error message that says "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart," there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restart your computer: Press and hold the power button on your computer until it shuts down completely, then turn it back on after a few seconds.
- Boot into Safe Mode: Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts up. This should bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu. Select "Safe Mode" and press Enter. If your computer starts up in Safe Mode, you can try to troubleshoot the issue from there.
- Run Startup Repair: If you're unable to boot into Safe Mode, you can try running Startup Repair. Restart your computer and press F11 repeatedly until the Choose an option screen appears. Select "Troubleshoot," then "Advanced options," then "Startup Repair."
- Use System Restore: If you have a restore point created on your computer, you can try using System Restore to restore your computer to a previous working state. To access System Restore, restart your computer and press F11 repeatedly until the Choose an option screen appears. Select "Troubleshoot," then "Advanced options," then "System Restore."
- Update or reinstall drivers: If the issue is related to a hardware driver, updating or reinstalling the driver may help resolve the issue. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
