its strange sometimes the advice we get from prows. did you try the firewall ? I have an older system as well and similar issues. it works real well with mine. I guess something inside was waking it up... idk lol

Thanks Jennifer.

I'm using Bitdefender, not keen on Mcafee.

Do you have a link for this port scanner ?

Thanks.

yes I have a link. I think I attached it if not it's   https://www.advanced-port-scanner.com

My problem got way worse last night. I really hate Microsoft.

Yes I have the link this may be a repeat but I can't find my reply https://www.Advanced-port-scanner.com completely free download. before you get rid of your machine try replacing your operating system. After a series of events I have made the decision to change mine to Linux. Also free to do. With the first step download Rufus . My memory was clean within an hour at the moment it's still using windows 10 and I believe when it finishes sometime next week it will be a great hybrid of Chrome Os, Linux, and Windows.

Hi all !

Think I've found the problem 🤔

After much thought, realised it only happened whilst using Firefox, I've reset it and all seems OK.

Maybe one of the extensions was interfering.

Going to leave it running for a few hours to confirm.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks for all your input.
