Boot device not found

Hi @Sunny226,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. The "Boot Device Not Found" error can occur if the system is unable to detect the hard drive/SSD or if there is an issue with the Windows boot files. To determine whether this is a hardware issue or a Windows-related issue, I recommend running the HP Hardware Diagnostics.

Please go ahead and run the Extensive Test using the steps below:

Extensive Test

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
  3. When the Startup Menu appears, press the F2 key.
  4. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests
  5. Click Extensive Test and allow it to complete.

Once the test finishes, please let us know:

  • Whether the test passed or failed
  • Any Failure ID or error message displayed.
  • Whether the hard drive/SSD is detected in the diagnostics.

This will help us determine whether the Boot Device Not Found error is being caused by a hardware issue with the storage device or if we should focus on repairing the Windows boot environment.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
