Recently I managed to delete a file while Windows 10 Pro 64 was installing an update. This has caused some files associated with Windows updates to be damaged. Is there a way to repair this condition? No software system disc came with the desktop and it is out of warrantee. Any guidance would be helpful. My backups that would correct this are not available either.
Any wisdom is greatly appreciated.

Hi:
You can reinstall W10 for free at any time by making bootable installation media with the Media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
Boot from the installation media, and when you get past the Install Now screen, you will be asked to select the version of W10 you want to install. Select W10 Pro.
Then you will be asked to enter a product key.
Select the 'I don't have a product key' option and W10 will install and activate after you are connected to the internet.
If you want to try repairing your current W10 installation, when you get to the Install Now screen on the lower left side of that screen, there will be a repair this PC option.
Click on that and you can try the various repair options available.
