HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0135st

I got the Blue Screen of Death. Spent time chatting with a Windows rep and we determined that my C drive is corrupted/ failed and I need to replace the drive. I plan to upgrade the 256 gb PCIe  NVMe M.2 SSD with a 1 or 2 tb like SSD.

First question will my PC accept a PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD of the size? If not what is the max size I can go?

Having purchased this PC from HP with a digital key to Windows 10 and having received the free upgrade

to Windows 11, what is the best option to reloading the OS and having the digital key be excepted for this already registered system?

with the secondary 1tb drive in the PC, what is the max size this PC will except in the SATA position?

Thanks.

Greetings @Mantis19

Welcome back to the Forum.

Consumer SATA or M.2 drive capacity, using W11, has no real world limitations at this time. Higher capacity disk prices would be the limiting factor.

Your PC shipped with W10. The Windows (10 or11) activation code is stored in the BIOS. Your PC should auto activate post installation.

You can probably only do a W10 HP Cloud Recovery. So you may have to update to W11 again if you are limited to a W10 HP recovery.

Or you can do a clean W11 install available Here. Create W11 USB installation media on a different PC.

Regards
