HI! I HAVE A SLIMLINE DESKTOP PC. MODEL # IS 260-p037 CB. SERIAL # IS [personal info removed]. OUT OF WARRANTY NOW. DVD RW CD PLAYER DOESN'T WORK, NO MATTER WHAT I INSTALL IN IT TO PLAY IT. SOMETHING EVENTUALLY OPENS AND A GREEN BAR RUNS ACROSS THE TOP BUT THE DISKS NEVER PLAY. THE PC FREEZES AND I HAVE TO MANUALLY PRESS THE POWER BUTTON TO STOP IT AND WIPE IT OUT. YESTERDAY, THE DEVICE, DRIVE E, WAS LISTED IN SYSTEM FOLDER. TODAY IT ISN'T THERE. ??? JUST THE PC DRIVE C AND THE SYSTEM RESTORE DRIVE.
I NEED A NEW DVD RW PLAYER. WHAT DO I BUY?
I HAVE THE WORST LUCK WITH THESE DVD PLAYERS IN PCS. NONE OF THEM EVER WORKED FOR ME, BUT THE ONE IN HP LAPTOP IS GREAT! SHHHH
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

Why is the possible solution to this user's question required to be "private", and not offered to All HP Users???
